Since 2010, ADAPTIV Structure Solutions has been working on the Mecum West Coast Auto Auctions in Monterey, California and recently supported the Auto Auction in Glendale, Arizona. The project in Monterey is constructed on the golf course at the Hyatt Regency and takes an average of 30 days from installation, operations, and tear down. This annual job includes over 40,000 square feet of structure, 25,000 square feet of carpet, over 3,500 square feet of Steeldeck which makes seating for 500, climate control, high-end lighting, a vehicle ramp into the main structure, walls and furniture.
The install schedule is in two phases to allow the golf course to remain open as long as possible. Phase 1 consists of the installation of the 40m x 100m Main Auction Tent and the 30m x 35m Auction and Admin Offices structure. Phase 2 is compressed into two days with a crew of 35 on site to meet the tight timeline while installing a 20m x 30m with glass walls and a floor, 47 Festival tents, and other tents dispersed throughout the course. Conversely, load out is just as tight of a timeline to allow the golf course to open back up as quickly as possible.
Mecum is a wonderful partner and is always willing to work with us and remain open to new innovation and design elements suggested by our project team.
